WELCOME TO SO ARE YOU NZ

BRINGING HAUORA TO LIFE ACROSS AOTEAROA

SO ARE YOU™ is a kaupapa-driven social enterprise committed to strengthening the hauora of tamariki, rangatahi, whānau and communities across Aotearoa and Australia.

We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to feel valued, connected, confident and capable of participating fully in life. Our purpose is to create positive social impact through movement, music and connection, supporting young people to build confidence, develop leadership capability, strengthen relationships and experience a genuine sense of belonging.

"Every child deserves to feel safe enough to be themselves, connected, enough to belong, and empowered enough to thrive, wherever they call home"

IDENTITY & PURPOSE

Supporting young people to develop a strong sense of identity, purpose, and connection to who they are and where they come from.

MORE THAN TALKING ABOUT WELLBEING

Many wellbeing, leadership and personal development programmes rely on classroom-based discussions, presentations or sit-down learning approaches. At SO ARE YOU™, we know that young people learn, connect and develop in different ways.

🎵

Experiential, not passive

Rather than simply talking about confidence or leadership, participants actively experience, practise and strengthen these skills through movement, teamwork and shared experiences.

🧠

Neuro-informed practices

We combine movement, music, connection and neuro-informed practices to create engaging and inclusive experiences that support positive youth development.

🌈

Meaningful and transferable

Skills built through our programmes are meaningful, memorable and transferable to everyday life, both now and into the future.

RETURNING HOME TO AOTEAROA

SO ARE YOU™ founder Jenna Chaffey was raised in rural Aotearoa New Zealand and is proud to whakapapa to Ngāti Porou. Growing up surrounded by strong whānau values, community connection, animals, and wide-open spaces helped shape her belief that every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and capable of achieving great things.

From a young age, Jenna developed a passion for helping others build confidence, find their voice, and believe in themselves. Today, that passion lives at the heart of SO ARE YOU™, where movement, connection, and belonging are used to empower tamariki and rangatahi to thrive.

Bringing SO ARE YOU™ to Aotearoa is more than an expansion, it is a return home and an opportunity to give back to the communities and values that helped shape its foundation.
